Thanks for the input guys. I might pass on it. I don't want to get a paid membership on here if I don't end up getting it. If one of you guys want to look at the pictures and tell me what you think, I'd sure appreciate. I guess you could send me your e-mail in a PM and I could send them to you. If I don't get it, maybe someone here would be interested. Thanks, Kip.

The truck doesn't look too bad, but still seems high on the price. Different locations make a difference too.
The bed looks a little long for the wheel base of the truck. Those old Fords don't like to drive very well if you don't keep some weight on the front axle. If it starts to get light in the front they get squirrelly. At least my F250 does.

I also found a '53 F350 and need some help!
Greetings all! This forum is massive so please forgive me if this topic is already out here. I found a F350 that is in the most amazing original condition. Cab corners look perfect, just has a couple broken door windows. I have read a little history about the 48-56 styles and understand the main difference between the F100 and 300 is chassis and a longer box bed. Are there any physical differences from the 100 to the 300? If so what are they? It appears to me the sheet metal and glass are identical and only the bed and hood side emblems are different.
I'm not interested in trying to restore the chassis, and believe the easiest way to update this to a daily driver would be to simply scrap out the chassis in favor of a more modern (80's) S-10 or Ranger. I'm sure the frame on the 300 is a bit taller than the 100 so I don't know of any cheaper alternatives as far as reworking everything with aftermarket kits over a junked out 80's small pickup. Would LOVE to see some plans for body mounts, wiring tips, etc.
I'm trying to determine if I can make this drive right and be safe and what that would take for an ultra cheap chassis transfer so I can spend the money on the minimal body work and paint! I also like the 99-07 Silverado bucket seats with the integrated seatbelts. Will these fit into the cab with room to still have reasonable ease of driving and steering?
Just wanted to get as many questions out there at once as I could.
Thanks in advance for the knowledge sharing!

The fenders on an F350 probably have the larger wheel openings compared to a F100. Other than that and emblems the body from cab forward is the same. I with Kenjh on tearing it apart. Get it running and have some fun as is. Especially if it has the pickup style bed. You would have a unique setup.

Thanks for the reply's but not the information I was looking for. Honestly, The only thing I would consider keeping "real" would be a 56 as it would be 12 volt and have a short throw crank. The reason I wanted to convert the thing is because the truck is NOT a runner. It's got a questionable amount of running issues, and reworking the entire chassis (and retaining the split rims) is not my idea of a "cheap fix"or what I want in the end because even when completed... you've got a ultra heavy chassis, questionable stopping power, a retrofit 289 (not original) and all that jazz. No offense to all you hard core resto guys on this forum by any means. I'm just not into saving everything from the 50's for the sake of "keepin' it real". I like the body style and the fact the thing is basic and built right! But I didn't think it looked quite right from the last 53 I almost bought for 3-times the price in original running condition (but had wasted cab corners). The fenders on this 300 did look a big large I assumed it was either because of the larger tires and hubs or could have been an illusion because I don't see them every week. But thanks for that info on the fenders. That is enough to seal the deal for me. I guess I'm just one of those guys that want's something very specific and though this is in outstanding body condition (and would only be used as a shell) I'm going to pass. Thanks for the info guys! If anyone has a good link to doing a body exchange to a ranger/s-10, I'd love to see it. Otherwise I'm lookin' at eventually bustin' out the $10K at Fatman for a roller.

I'm a bit late on this thread - but go for it
I've got a '55 F350 dually dump, 223, 4 speed
Very cool truck.
As noted most part interchange with the F100s. Brakes, suspension and running gear tend not to
They also are geared to pull stumps
The widowmaker wheels are a PITA but the 60s era F350 wheels up to about '66 are OK replacement

Nope...
1980 was the first year Ford offered a pickup bed with DRW. F350 Styleside only.
No such thing prior to 1980, no such thing as a Flareside with DRW.
All 1953/66 F350's have 6 lug wheels on a 7.25" bolt circle pattern not shared with any other truck.
The brakes, suspension, rear axle are F350 only, the front fenders might be the same as F100/250...it depends on the size of the wheels.
B6C-16005-A right & B6C-16006-A left .. 1953/56 F100/350 front fenders = Use with 15, 16 & 17.5" wheels.
This truck has an aftermarket flatbed, the taillamps (notice the incorporated backup lenses) are from a 1967 and later Chassis & Cab. The outside mirrors are D5TZ17696A = optional on 1975/79 F100/350's.
Someone has installed aftermarket replacement gauges in the instrument cluster. the engine appears to be replaced as well as it has a Holley 4V used on 1957/64 292 H/D's.
The entire engine is painted Ford Coirporate Blue-not correct until 1966.
The 1948/56 Ford Truck Parts Catalog is available on a CD from hipoparts.com for about 20 bucks. If you wanna know what fits what, get the parts catalog.
