Looking for Ranger with Cap pics

I'm starting to look for a cap for my 07 Ranger.

I was wondering if I can see what some of these caps actually look like on the truck. All the brochures have full size trucks in them. I did find a few online but do not know what make or model the caps are.

Bonus cookies if it's a blue Ranger.

Also any input from those that have a cap as for quality and the like.

So far I have looked at ARE and Jason Caps. There are only like 5 dealers in my area and they are all spread out. I might go in the other direction Friday and check out the Leer dealer and Century dealer.

Thanks.

Do yourself a favor and buy a used one. I got one from a local JY for 100. As you know new ones are around 1500

Ya I know.
But than I am looking at paint at the very least. I know still cheaper.
I only see a couple on craigslist in my area and they still want up to $500 for the decent ones.

I also like the idea of a tilt and possibly removable front window. I don't know if the used ones have those as the adds just say "cap".

Don't know if you can still use them, but I will post pics of my blue Ranger with the paint match ARE campshell tonight.

Thank you. How do you like the ARE?

Still looking and trying to decide on what I want.

So far I got feedback on only a Jason cap from a full size owner.

I've had the cap on for four years now and it looks great, no leaks, I love it! It seems I can't attach pics here but you can see them here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/g...ldogchief.html

The paint match does up the price a bit but it is so very worth it!

Thank you for the pics and info.

The ARE shop here told me they take the paint code and send it to ARE when they order it and no mention of a color match fee. The fee may already be put into the price of the cap. Shop wants $1075(before x-mass anyway) for the V-Series (guessing that's what you have).

That's what they do alright, they took down the paint code and called me when it was ready. I paid $1100 in Virginia Beach.

This is my second Z Series. I would buy another for sure. The fit and finish are first rate, and the color match is dead-on perfect.

I haven't noticed anyone here complaining about locks freezing up or leaking on the ARE's like they do with some of the other makes. That's just something you shouldn't have to deal with on such an expensive accessory. Makes me feel even better about my ARE.

I just bought a Lear topper for my Ranger for $75 used. I had to get new lift shocks for the rear window so I have $100 in it. Its the color of my truck too.

my '88 : my '93 : the cap on the '88 (blue) was a leer, i bought it in '91 same year i bought that truck, had the '88 until around '97. the cap on my '93 was on it when i bought it in 2003, its a gemtop brand. still have that truck, clearcoat is seperating from cap on the top and on a few places on the sides, have always waxed it when i waxed the truck, i guess after 17 years you cant expext things to look like new anymore, the hinges went bad over 5 years ago and broke on the rear door, i made due with a small set of galvanized barndoor-style hinges. there is no front window on the gemtop, just a "boot" that seals up against the rear of the cab. i did have the cap off once, its fairly light but bulky to deal with if your by yourself. the leer was $800. when i bought it, dont know what there running now, probly 1,000 or a little more.
