5 SPEED SWAP IS DONE!!! Well almost...

My truck runs and drives!!!!!!!!!! Completed the swap tonight! Thanks to everyone who helped along the way! jg96powerstroker, rideracelivemx7, Redman84, and my buddy Andrew!

As far as the swap, it went pretty well....Only a few things to figure out. During the swap we did a rear main seal, drive shaft u-joints, and Front wheel bearings and seals. Along the line i messed up my auto locking hubs. So im ordering my warn conversion kit right now to go to manual hubs. They make a zinggg noise while driving like they're trying to lock.

I have to weld my flex pipe because like and idiot i cut it thinking i had to remove my exhaust. So i'll just replace it with pipe instead of flex junk. I have to throw my rear seat back in, finish my boots around the shift stick and figure out my linkage for my transfer case.

When i plugs my trans harness into my truck i had reverse lights but wouldnt crank. Redman sent me some great pics on how to change the wires around. So ill mess with that in the morning.

BTW: The factory ford shift ****.....IS AWFUL!! Its sooo ugly, all black no white letters. YUCK! So ill have to find and aftermarket one. I tried to order a **** like the one my 2002 F-450 has...But they all changed to the same ****.

Other than that, What an amazing project. Its a totally different feel, its not the same truck i bought. I love it now!!!!!

Glad to hear you got it going. Ford did have a shift **** that came factory in these trucks like your talking about. Did you check LMC Truck?

Nevermind, I just looked and they don't have one... Wonder if a stock Dodge **** would fit the shifter.. I remember seeing a truck that had a **** w/ the white shift pattern on it. Don't remember which truck that was though..

Now I remember!!! My donor F-150 had a gloss shift ****, but the guy who had it before me screwed it all up! It was a '92 F-150 so I'm sure the **** would fit. See if any F-150's around you has a gloss shift ****.

don't be doing burnouts yet slick lol get some miles on that pig, if your talking about when you left your shop its because it looks like you popped it, you dont have full pedal yet from the busings, get that taken care of and feather the clutch. shouldnt hop any more. youll learn how to get rid of it, i did!

Mine from the 95 has a gloss **** w white script. I repainted the handle nice and glossy black too. Looks good. I have thought about pulling the **** off and putting on a billiard ball, baseball, or even a small deer antler. How does the stock **** remove anyway?

Yeah man, like steve said, you'll get it down. That's a big daddy clutch pedal and took me a few days to get to where I could "feel" where it was. And if your pedalbox bushings are bad it will make it engage/disengage in funny spots of the spring. It can also make it where the safety switch won't engage due to a lesser master cylinder pushrod travel if they're too bad.

mine has a "leathery" cover on it "part of what is removed from a male bovine when it is being raised for butchering! I guess there is a lot more cowboy in me than not.
