Question Adding Sirius radio

I have 2010 Lariat with the Sirius radio factory. A friend has a 2010 XLT and no Sirius but has a button on the radio for it. If he gets a receiver from Sirius can that be operated thru his factory radio? I know he will have to add a antenna but he wants to use the Aux on his factory radio for this, can it be done?

I'm doing that very thing. I'm purchaseing what I'm told is the factory module for my 05 SCrew. Pull the radio, plug it in, run the antenna....all done

SPL Electronics...they have a web site...indicates what type of radio the buyer has, and tells what parts are available. I started to do this thru Best Buy, buying a sirius add on and such. But this way is much cleaner, and concievably the antenna can be placed on the dash. it's a small item.

I want to jump in on this thread to see the info that is shared. I'm getting a free radio from Sirius on Thursday. It plugs into the 12v outlet and the aux input and has a magnetic antenna. Those are a lot of wires running around. Best Buy says they can install with no wires showing. I have an appt. to see what they can do on Saturday. I'll let you all know.
An option that uses the Sirius button would be great if it does not cost too much. But, free is hard to beat.

I know several people that have the antennae on the dash and they claim it works well. I'm going to check the antennae input on the module and make sure it is tight, then go from there.....
