Please welcome our newest member "glovemeister". I don't know where in Oregon or what year Ford he has. Hopefully he'll be along and tell us!

Hey everyone! I've been wanting a Ford for a long time since the current GM fiasco. My current dd is a 95 Dodge Ram that has been good to me. I just bought a 84 Ford F250 HD 4x4 Super Cab. It has the t19, borg warner tcase. Heavy duty clutch, radiator, axles etc. It has mint or close to captains chairs front, leather rear bench, interior is tan. Awesome manual windows and doors. It has the 460 gasser with dual tanks. It also came with a warn winch bumper, dual tanks, a custom rack with work lights, and space for high lift jack, shovel, and axe with locking bar. A spare mount bed tire rack. I paid $700 cash for it. It starts and drives but shuts down when it gets warm so I think its vapor locking. It also included a 14k fifth wheel hitch, emergency tow package, regular tow package, 4 new tires, and 2 spares. Edelbrock intake, all new seals around the cab and windows. It has factory/aftermarket tent and cruise control.
Thus far I am going to re do:
The paint most likely hugger orange.
Rhino line the bed, floors, bottom inside and out of doors, bottom quarter panels, inside the fenders, the entire undercarriage, and bed rails.
Rhino line winch bumper and rack.
Put 4 forward facing kc lights on the rack, with 2 additional one for each side.
Get the engine sorted out, and tuned up.
Replace the ac components that need to be
Get the suspension like new, with a 4-6 inch lift
Install warn hubs, has stock ford now.
Make the headlights brighter.
Install an aftermarket deck
Replace the interior with a newer version
Swap out the trans for a zf with od
Change the gauges to aftermarket
Replace the rusted tail gate
Make it dual exhaust with cherry bombs or flow master exhaust
Weld more onto the winch bumper to protect and grill and lights
Install a winch
Bigger tires and nicer rims
Rock sliders
My goal is to coax 10 out of it, if I can do that I will be happy, but my ideal goal would to get 13 out of it. Thats what my present dd gets, and has a single cab, no 4x4, no towing power but it is a good truck. Everything I listed was my dream list and some of it I may not do such as trans swap etc. but we shall see.
I live in Corvallis for college and then Eastern Oregon when I am not going to school.

Hahah no joke! I am living in Corvallis for college but go home every week or two. This rain is almost too much, I have a skylight about my workstation so I get to see it and hear it.
No lie? I hail from Sherman County. You don't happen to work with GC EMS do you? I am on the NSFD. Do you know Dean Bates, runs the bins in Condon?
I don't know Dean, but there are a bucket load of "Bates" up here...lol
I use to have a mobile farm repair business around here, but just took early retirement this month, so the Gov is sending ME checks now...

True enough! I don't really much care for sports but it would be nice to have the Ducks fans not be so cocky. Yeah you westside guys have pretty nice summers. I love summer and spring because I can work on stuff not in the cold and rain. It sucks not having ashop.

I'm lucky, I live up river a little ways, away from town and all that BS. I try to spend every chance I have up in the Cascades in the summer, no place like the high country.

It's been a great business for me. I charged less than the local shops because I had a very low overhead, so the farms got a good deal, and I didn't have a shop and employees to worry about. I bought a used Ford ambulance several years a go and set it up as my service truck. Best service truck I've ever had!
I haven't completely retired yet, my customers would probably shoot me.....But I work when and where I want to now!
