99 v10 buget build

I have a 99 v10 and need more power I have headers intake on it. I was thinking of opening it up and changing the pistons for some pistons from a 4.6 dohc for more compression is this possible will it work good I have the pistons ect and like how much compression would it have?

Look into 5 star tuners.

If you're going to open it up, it might be better to slap on a pair of PI heads and intake. The PI heads should raise the compression with the '99 pistons.

You would, of course, need a custom tune after that because of the compression change.

If it were me, I'd definitely look into the heads, because it's an easier thing to do than changing pistons, rings and honing the block.
