Hi Gang,

Wierd problem just surfaced. Had major snow here.

I have an 02 F150 4x4 FX4. MSOF. I put it in 4Whi this a.m. Got out of the pickle. At a stop light, put in N, put to 2wh. Still acts as if in 4WH.

I tried to put her in 4WL and it won't engage. NOR can I put it back in 2WH unless I put her in P, shut down and restart. Then and only then does she drop to 2WH. Sure hope this is an easy fix. Just turned 110K on the clock.

Any Ideas???

Just to add, I was dead stopped when I made the initial switch to 4WH...

Does the 4HI light go off when you try to shift into 2wd? Did you try letting her roll a couple inches or did you stay stopped?

MSOF - That is the stick on the floor, not the switch on the dash? What hubs do you have?

 

i always shift into neutral and do the 4 x 4 change. If the truck rolls slightly that helps Sometimes you have to put it into gear and roll a few inches. Some boxes are tighter than others. Mine will not shift setting still with your foot on the brake.

 

I am usually moving when I switch between 2h and 4h, unless I have to stop and throw the hubs.

My mistake. Its NOT Msof... ITs electronic. My Bad... Haven't had any problems until this winter... Go figger...

The 4 LOW light doesn't come on even when switched to 4L
