What can I say - the weather here is good for something besides suntans! And the last time I was in Anchorage I seem to recall something about a earthquake or two up your way in the recent past...
The carb is wide open and FULL of junk so I may start pulling some parts off to make sure the intake and cylinders are clear. I am hopeful though...
I also finished posting some more pix to my gallery. Take a look when you get a chance.

Hmm... since you're that far south you're practically in California anyhow! We get the good trucks but you get the good fishing. And I bet the salmon runs are unreal up there.
By the way, for the longest time there was a pretty good looking f68 in grand prarie AB posted on oldride for $1200. I scrapbooked the ad if you're interested. It's over the mountains so I imagine it would be no easier to get it from where you're at though.

No good, the ad expired on nov 12 so the link is dead. I downloaded a copy of the ad when it was posted so I have the page, photos, etc but no easy way to link directly to them on my computer.
here's the description:

Congratulations on your new truck, ah I mean Trucks! that is a pretty nice start, much much better than what I started with...
oh ya and it sounds like your well on your way to having a collection of old trucks, it took me almost 8 years before I added the second truck to my fleet for parts etc
btw pulling the intake manifold is pretty easy to make sure you don't have any twigs, leaves, snails etc ready to enter the cylinders before trying to start her up. then you can kinda see how the bottom of the valves look as well as the valve clearances etc.
I did this on a running engine and it had a couple of valve guides that were broken in half so the top half of the valve guide was floating up and hitting the base of the valve
.
I had to have help removing the head bolts though!
Cheers
Josh
EDIT; Oops I forgot you said straight 6, I have on of those straight 6's sitting in the garage right now too but havent done anything with it yet other than to see that it had good compression on all 6. maybe next month I'll throw it on my engine test stand and see if it runs... good luck with yours.

Great photos Josh, and thanks for the advice. Looks like your help is a little more experienced with flatheads than I am!
I am kinda inclined to pull off the head as well just to see what there is to see. What are your thoughts on reusing head gaskets?
