Can ABS be by-passed or disabled?

Just got the price for the ABS valve $165!!! I'm already into this thing for over $350 in just rear brakes, lines, shocks, and M/C, and I've still gotta put a new front to rear line in. From the looks of it I'm gonna trash the fittings on the ABS valve and it's doubtful I can open the bleed screw to even bleed the valve.

Is there some way to by-pass the ABS valve?

Are you dealing with rust? That sucks.
You can disable it by pulling the fuse but honestly I wouldn't. These things really need it. Mine was disabled in our 2000 model and I didn't know it. That's what caused the accident that totaled it.

I think I bought my from Rock Auto for about a hundred but I can't remember. If you do replace it, don't bother trying to bleed it on the valve. What I read here on FTE is to bleed the system the best you can, go for a test drive and lock up the rear brakes a couple of times. this forces the RABS valve to cycle and force the air down the line to the rear. Re-bleed the rear and you should be good. Worked for me.

Thanks for the advice guys, and yeah I'm dealing with rust. The valve is unrecognizeable, it's a clump of rust with two lines going to it and I gently scraped off enough rust to identify a bleeder screw. The price I got was the jobber price at NAPA, best one I can get around here, guess I'll check around for used ones that aren't rusted up. I'll remember the bleed-lock-bleed method when/if I get her going again. I have the F350 that's my truck now, so I'm not sure if I'll even keep the F250, if I do it may be just for parts....
