Northward bound!!!

Well, finally talked mtself into going to New Hampshire for Thanksgiving, leaving in the AM. By the way I figure it, a little over 3200 miles with no detours, but if things go good, I plan to take the scenic route coming home. Skyline Drive through the Shenadoah Valley, Blue Ridge Parkway all the way to Cherokee NC, and might even pick up the Natchez Trace at Nashville and run it down to Jackson MS.
Not going to take the 53 this time, scared it might snow and get into some road salt. Whaddayaknow, calling for snow on Thanksgiving Day in Nashau, oh well, trusty rusty Mercedes will make the trip.
I won't be without internet, so I'll try to check in. See ya'll when I return from yankee country.

We did about a hundred miles of the Natchez Trace several years ago when we rode down to Mobile. Very pretty ride. I want to take some time and go back and do the whole thing.

I have a friend who rides it on a bike every year, sounds like a nice ride, someday.

Have a safe trip, we're looking at making the trip to my Grandmothers next summer in Michigan (2200 RT). I have no doubts the Pavement Princess will make it...it's how much fuel ($$$) will it take and if the women in the truck will make it. I have a bad habit of keeping the left door closed allot when it comes to a road trip.

You did take your green card and other related identifcation when you? You'll need 'em to cross back over the Mason-Dixon.

About six years ago while attending a historical society function in Vicksburg...my wife and I suck off to drive the Natchez down to Natchez. I forget exactly where we got on it (we didn't run the entire length) but it was neat. I'd been east of the big muddy ditch a couple of times; my Okie wife...not so much. Maybe someday we'll get to make that trip again.

Same here, I drove 16 hours Sat with only 3 stops, 2 of which were for fuel

Heh, 60 when I left for work this morning. I'd have ridden the bike, but they're calling for rain today. So far only sprinkles, but if I'd ridden, it'd probably be pouring.

I knew better than that from talking to people on the Harley newsgroup I hang in.
Hey, at least it was raining on the way home tonight, so I don't regret the decision this morning not to ride the bike.

This morning when I stopped to fuel up before heading home a diehard...and I mean DIEHARD rider pulled into the gas station on a VW powered Trike. For some reason his face was bright red when he pulled his skull mask down. We saw that storm...tops of the clouds & lighting strikes this morning while in Branson. Looked pretty impressive for an almost winter T-storm.

Well, I'm back below the Mason/Dixon line, but still nowhere near home. Drove Skyline Drive thru Shenandoah Nat. Park yesterday, 1/2 of Blue Ridge Parkway today, rest tomorrow. Maybe I'll head home Wed. but I might decide I need to see something else before I get there.
