Will soon have an '87 F-250: Anything I need to know?
Within the next 2-3 weeks, I will have a 1987 F250 Extended cab long box... It's being "borrowed" to me by a very close friend who is currently incarcerated. He said it has a 4-6 inch lift on it so its a bigger truck... anything I should know? I want to make sure I take good care of his truck as he's willingly allowing me to drive it.
Thanks in advance!

Nothing special. Keep a regular check on engine oil level, coolant level, brake fluid level and auto trans fluid level (if fitted).
Engine oil and filter change at regular intervals along with greasing the steering joints and driveshafts.
Any problems down the line post here for advice.
Hopefully other opinions to follow.

As a fellow chick with a lifted truck (well, before I sold it last week), I have this piece of advice - do not drive the truck like you would a car. Lifted trucks tend to lean more in corners, so they are more likely to tip over if you try to go around a turn too fast. Other than that, they are very much like any other vehicle, so just follow what Lazy K posted.
Oh, and make sure when you get in and out of it you have a good footing, I have on more than one occasion slipped off the door step when it was wet (I wear cowgirl boots, they are quite slippery when wet) and let me tell you the landing can be quite painful sometimes (Why do we human beings still have a tail bone? If I must have a tail bone I want a tail as well, if I cannot be a catgirl then I do not want the silly tail bone!)

LOL I still picture the one day I stopped at my buddy place after leg day at the gym! I rolled in to a blacktop parking lot, not fully thinking I just kind of hopped down out of the truck.... legs just like jello ... My buddy was LHAO he said he seen the door open me drop out and just puddle on the ground under the truck!

Master Tom, you are not that old - when men like yourself fall out of their trucks it is not because of age, but usually because of a beautiful girl being in the near proximity And I am not sure if falling out is all that bad, for falling IN my blazer once cost me a trip to the dentist.
