Rear Differential conversion?

Rear Differential conversion?
Hello everyone, I would like to know if I can convert my "open" rear differential to a "limited slip"? My original 2002 Ranger had a 4.10 limited slip rear differential, but the one I have now has an open rear differential. Long story but my first one was totaled by a 16 year old driver. NEway I want L/S. Is there a way to make a conversion without replacing the whole rear end? The axle code on the door is "97" where I believe my first Ranger was "R7". It is a 2002 Ranger XLT 4x4 supercab 4.0 SOHC.

OK, so it can be done. That's good news. If I were to have some one do this for me how much would I be expectiing to pay? I don't have a garage and its getting cold out! What other options are there? Can I completely convert the rear end to what a factory L/S "R7" would be? I loved my original Ranger!
