352 no oil to rocker arms
We have used this forum a lot to answer questions regarding our 1965 Ford F100. It has a 352 bored over to a 390 (according to the guy I bought the truck from). Truck sat for a while before starting it. When we started it, had an oil leak (dripping on ground) from backside of head. Rebuilt top end. Started engine, no oil leak. Running with lots of white smoke out both exhaust. Also had bubbles in the valve covers. Appears head gaskets on backwards (driver side). Replaced head gaskets, leaving both back ports open, and with new head bolts. Also pulled oil pan/oil pump and reinstalled. Restarted engine, lots of knocking and now no oil to rocker arms on passenger side. Removed rocker arms, no bent rods. Pulled oil pan/pump no blockage. Primed oil pump with drill, still no oil to rocker arms on passenger side. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Your no oil problem is caused by the wrong bolts in the oil feed hole in the head. The bolt for the oil feed holes has a skinny section (reduced diameter) to allow oil past to the rocker assembly. Otherwise some one does not know how to assemble the FE valve train.

I agree with Bear, that the bolts could have been mixed up, although there may be other reasons.
As a start, I'd remove the problem side rocker shaft assembly and spin the oil pump and see if oil comes up through the head.
You know, I've never ever checked to see if my rockers are getting oil. Never spun the oil pump with a drill, or ran the engine with the valve coevers off. I should do that sometime just to see how much oil squirts out around the rockers. Just cuz I'm curious.

He needs to pull the rocker assembly off on the no oil side and run the pump again, if oil comes up the passage, he his good (he will be then he needs to make sure the appropriate bolt is in that hole on the rocker assembly. If it was me I would check the other side just to be safe.

Thanks so much for the help!! I have pulled the rocker assembly off on the side with no oil and do have the rocker arm bolts correct (undercut bolt in hole with oil port on both sides). When priming the pump had 2-3 drops come through the port on the passenger side, no more. Will check head bolts now. Thanks again for the help!
