(flame suit on I would imagine)....

My buddies dodge broke down in abilene and I drove up there to pick up his trailer. He is a tire vendor and if he had missed the race weekend he wouldve probably went under so I had to help him and my betsy was up to the job.

Bought a F350 dually with 70K back in November. Mileage is horrible and averages 9.5 towing 5K about 20% of the time. I have replaced the high pressure oil pump and have no modifications at all.

Welcome to FTE. At what speed are you towing at? What type of trailer? How far apart are your regens?

Towing at 55 and very rarely at 70. Trailer is either a 20' V-Nose or 16' tag along but light loads. of 3K or less. Not sure what a regen is. It has had several repairs already since I purchased it including the EGR valve, intake, water sensor and the last one was the high pressure oil pump I had heard so much about.

You need to read the tech folder at the top of this forum. Download the bible and then go through the pages. That explains a lot of stuff there.

Then get the diesel supplement out and follow the severe maintance schedule.

I just bought a 08' 450 4x2 .... I tow a 53' race trailer with living quarters. This weekend was our first trip. 8-9 mpg....lots steep grades and L.A. traffic.
The 99 f350 6spd I traded in got 12-14 on the same trip...same trailer. But the trailer killed it....I miss the mileage of my 7.3 already but love the 08 450.
