engine fire parts salvage question/advice needed
Found a 96 psd low mile with the most common abs fire damage on it.Wondering if the heads might be warped from heat intensity. Also have a potential water intrusion into intake boots that have yet to delve into.Wondering the interior effects of heat pertaining to the valve seals as well as head gasket concerns.Light plastic loss on top of motor with rubber melting and everything else okay in appearance although wouldnt use anything from this psd other than block and heads.Open to any ideas and suggestion from previous experience. Thanks once more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Injectors would still be good even with warped heads.
Turbo is good, turbo pedestal.
Water pump should be good, maybe.
Plastic fires, are fast and intense.
It takes heat a longer time to penetrate lots of metal to cause damage. If it was just a plastic flash fire and it didn't burn up the whole front of the truck, i doubt much anything metal is damaged.

The 96 psd had minimal underhood instances of damage to the metal, although harness, gpr, rubber dostortion as wel as paint loss of the valve covers.Thought the valve covers were a hard plastic and found that they are metal.Primary concern is what kind of material would be used for such fire.If it were some kind of powder then that should be okay, although would venture to guess that fireman would have soaked down the truck with water once the flames were contained.Figure some water made it into the turbo as it doesn't spin by hand.
