1954 F250 Leaf Springs - HELP!
I have come to the conclusion that the leaf springs on my 54 F250 need replacing - both front and rear. My understanding is that FRONT leaf springs on the F250 are the same width/type as the F100 but the rears are wider. I have tried buying new leaf springs from LMC but they shipped the wrong stuff (all F100 stuff). Does anyone have any suggestions for another source for F250 leaf springs (other than LMC or Mid Fifty)? Or does anyone have any good used springs? Also, does anyone know of a source for the overload brackets that were used on the F250?

I'm guessing these guys could help. They probably made the originals. They are an OEM supplier.

I checked out their website but they don't list springs for the 1954. I will email them and see if I can get a reply. I am learning that the aftermarket tends to support the F100 very well but there are certain F250+ parts that are not reproduced. I realize a local spring shop could make a set but they are asking big $$$. Is finding a used set from another vehicle a good idea? Or is new the way to go?

Let's start with what's wrong with your original springs? You can try the used spring route, but what are the chances of finding a set that's in any better shape than yours? I would think F-250's from the day would have been used pretty hard. If you can find them, you might have to go through a couple of sets to find good ones, and at what cost? Just a thought. From that perspective, with buying new, you at least have a known quantity.

Try this web sit they were the only spring company that had the shims I needed and they were on the shelf. Benz Spring Company Home Page

I would suggest you find the local "spring shop" in your area, take the truck by and ask them how much it would cost to make a new set with U-bolts.
It'll probably be the best deal anyway (considering shipping) and you can either take your old ones off or have the shop swap them out - ensuring all the pins, bushings bolts, etc, are good as well.
