Shift Solenoid

Posted this in the SD Forum, but not getting many views....so I'll try here. I have a 2003 F250 V10 CC LB with 82k miles on it. Just installed a set of 285/75r16 BFG Mud Terrains and then I got a CEL. Code is P1715, Transmission Shift Solenoid B. I never got the flashing Overdrive light only the CEL. I feel a slightly harsher than normal downshift once in a while when leaving a stop with the OD on, but no other symotoms. Going to replace the solenoid but is there anything else I should replace when I have the pan off? Anybody ever replace this thing? Not much info on here that I can find for it. Thanks in advance!

after you unbolt and unplug the solenoid it can be a real PITA to get her out. I found the easiest was was to grab a small piece of 2x4 place it on top of the electrical connector and tap down on it with a hammer

Thanks for the info. Did you have to replace anything else when you did yours? My parts guy who is a former Ford tech told me I should take it to a shop or better yet the dealer. He said there were issues with the electrical harnesses as well. Any opinions?
