Where's my Clunk comming from? Already did ball joints

I had a clunking noise in the front driver side of my 02 f250 7.3.

I tore the front end apart, did new ball joints, pitman arm (it was cracked), and everything that goes along with the ball joints...

now the clunk is back and I can't figure out what it is. ALSO on this side there is a new hub, and newer than the rest shock, so what else could it be?

clunking mostly going over bumps/in out of driveways

I'm using the truck to haul over some nasty passes right now (in the middle of a trip) so hopefully you guys can help me out.

Thanks in advance!

I've had a clunk noise from the front of my '99 F150 for about 10 years now. I never could figure it out, nor any of my friends nor the mechanic that I asked to listen to it. Nothing's ever fallen off of it yet so I quit worrying about it.

I took my truck in yesterday to a place called VP gearworks, they do great work and I was in there area already.

They listened to it and started messing with it, took about 5 minutes and they found it was a bad stabalizer bushing (suspension bushing) in my left stabalizer bar (the one that goes up and down, theres one on each side).

He told me the cheapest place for eurothene (SP?) bushings is O'Rielys and they sell them in a kit for our trucks to replace them all at once, he also said it was an easy job and if I did my ball joints myself than this would be cake, SO check your bushings, probably an easy fix like mine

I was in the middle of a trip across state when I went there, he said also that it would be fine to continue my trip even hauling a trailer, so like you said, its nothing to worrie about either.

Sounds like you're talking about the sway bar end links.??....right?
I had to replace mine a couple weeks after buying my truck. Heard the clunking and it wasn't the first time I'd seen this, so I checked them and sure enough. Bolt rusted through and was popping in and out of the hole, making a clunk each time.
Cheap fix though..

Hey, thanks for the info. I'll dig into it the next I've got my truck up on the jack stands.

the end links on my sway bar were both rusted and broken. I replaced them but my clunk stayed. I checked my ball joints and they seem good. I guess my next option is bushings.
