cheap lifts?

Wuzzup Lew!!!!
What does a stock EFI 302 make anyhow? 180 horse? 280 ft lbs? At what RPM?
I really liked how my truck did with the factory stance and tires. Bottom end with the 4.11 gear was neck-snapping quick. Not much top end, though. I know a mildly built V8 would be twice as stout and have the top end to match - that would be enough to make me happy!

I was at the gas station a while on back when an old Mustang pulled up, thumping and pumping away. It sounded like a BIG V8. Not real wise on the engines of that era I asked if he had a 351 in the 'Stang. He paused, trying to remember the correct displacement. He finally said it was a 289. My jaw dropped! It sounded BIG!
Ty, you're right.. the 302 loves low gears. Have you thought any about swapping to a 4.10 yourself? I wonder what that would do to your fuel mileage exactly. I bet you would gain some in the low end.

Then you'll have to go through the trouble of taking it off. Don't buy it. You will have issues with bumpers fitment, fan shroud fitmenet, shifter linkage etc. The center of gravity is also increased and the stock suspension was not designed for that. Its just not worth messing with. Also, unless you have a flareside with the lower bedsides and side steps the body lift looks like crap becuase the frame hangs down. Its just a really cheesy lift.

You've already got the tires, so tuck them away in the shed nice and safe and then save up for the other things you really need to be able to do it right.
- Lift Kit
- 4:10 Gears so the 5.0 can actually turn the 35's
- exhaust, so the motor can breath and gain some oomph for the 35's

Some good advice here, kid. I would say where you want to turn 35's with a 302, you might as well go ahead and slap some 4.56's in those pumpkins.
FYI, a stock truck on slightly bigger than stock mud grips (285/70LT16s) will walk circles around a stock truck on big tires & a BGTL body lift, every time.
