My wife has an '10 Edge. So far it is a beaut. No problems what-so-ever, except the irratic shifting patters that all Fords seem to have....even my '11 F250 diesel.

UPDATE: I've now had the opportunity to drive the EDGE in the snow and am really pleased with the way it gets through it. The starting issue has been resolved(it just went away). It still doesn't hold hills and has a really strange shift pattern. I'm taking it to the dealer sometime in the next week for a check up.

Wife has about 300 miles on her 2011 edge
Will have to find her traction control button for her.
She got stuck in a friends driveway, inch or 2 of snow on top of packed.
just would not go. They eventually pushed it by hand. My clue when I found out was wheels did not spin, or engine accelerate when gas applied.
My sprinter is real bad about that. First time it happened to me I didnt know about it either, the more gas I gave it the slower the engine ran.

If its such a problem in the getting rolling department, maybe they should have an auto disable built in,

Is your Edge a 2wd or AWD?

The AWD's have a traction button on the middle portion of the dash below the radio (at least on our '08) It is my understanding that if you get an AWD one stuck you press the traction control button to let the front wheels 'chew' into the snow like a front wheel drive to help get you out.

you play with buttons on left side of steering wheel, navigate thru on screen menus, ta dah!
A simple button near the shifter would be nice!

We have an 08' Edge SEL - AWD. At about 15,000 miles the PTU leaked. It was a warranty fix and haven't had any issues with the PTU since.

The brakes weren't so great, as the rotors went bad around 17,500 miles. It has been a year and 20,000 miles since then, and no problems. (Knock on Wood)

Overall, this has been an excellent vehicle to drive! (Especially when there is a lot of snow on the roads) It handles great and is pretty quick.

We just traded an 08 Expy XLT, which I absolutely loved. Loved the power, loved the smoothness, loved the room. It didnt get bad mpg's if you were careful 15-16 around town (not a lot of stop and go where we live), and I have gotten as high as 21 on a trip to Florida. That said, we traded for an Edge SEL 2wd with the vista roof. I love it equally, it has pretty good power, and gets a bit better mpg's. Haven't been on a hwy trip yet, but around 20 in town (wife driving, I know I can do better). The only options I wish it had was the outside temp (I dont get that, it has trip a&b, mpg meter, trip time, etc) and the mirror and seat memory buttons. I think it rides nice, is comfortable (minus the crappy headrest design), and looks sharp. I miss my expy, but I love the Edge.

It is like the transfer case on a 4x4. It provides the power to drive the front wheels.

Just replaced a 2008 Explorer Eddie Bauer package with a 2011 Edge SEL - Fwd model for better mileage. So far 20.8 in town - we like it. My vehicle is a 2011 F150 Super Crew 4x4 with Ecoboost V6 - tons of power, and with only 175 miles on the odometer getting 16 mpg in town, 20+ on hwy. My Avitar might confuse you, that's my old truck a 2010 Lariat with the 5.4. I need to get some pics of new truck posted and change Avitar.
