Ford 6.0 fuel ? looking for Suggestions

Recently, I noticed my excursion was getting really poor fuel mileage. Pullling my bobcat trailer with the bobcat it used to get 12.8-13 miles to the gallon on the hwy. I recently took a trip to texas, and brought a little 12' single axle trailer with me, that had a Polaris RZR on it, and figured it would have to get better fuel mileage than my bobcat. I got 12-12.8 mpg. I thought maybe I had a dirty fuel filter, so I changed the fuel filter for the ride home, and nothing changed. Not pulling a trailer, I used to get average of 17.5-18 on the hwy, and now it is getting 14-14.8. I know it cant be bad diesel from all different stations, I have put 3,000 miles on with this poor mileage. The check engine light isnt on, and there doesnt appear to be any power loss, any suggestions?

Winter fuel, #2 has less energy, doesnt gel as easy. Its a pretty common issue. Depends on where you got the fuel.

I was in TX, where I purchased 2 of the tanks of gas, it was still in the upper 70's there, I dont think they had winter blend, I know I lost a little mpg last year in the winter, but it wasnt a drastic change like this.

I agree that most people are getting winter fuel. But down from 17-18 down to 14-15 is more than a winter fuel drop, seems to me.

the drop is about right for your area winter fuel, my drop is more severe up here, loose as much as 5 mpg at full -40 C fuel. I would say you have teh 0 f fuel at this point which would be about 50% #1 and 50% #2. Add cetane boost (and antigel if you need it) and see if it improves. Check for codes wouldnt hurt.

My mileage has dropped from 17 to 14 as of fridays fill up. This is typical for me every year starting in the fall.

Winter blend sucks!Less miles per more expensive gallon..Diesel is up to 1.14-25 a liter.

I've been running the cetane boost, and then when it gets really cold out, I use the ford anti-gel. I dont think I can check any codes if the check engine light isnt on, can I?

There are codes that can be in the PCM without setting a CEL.
