Swap in a 351. Convert to mass air, put on an exhaust and a cam and you'll be happy. If you really want to spend the money, put some heads on it and get it tuned at a dyno shop. For a few thousand you will have a vehicle you're very happy with.

I never understood why anyone would buy a 347 stroker for a Bronco when there is a factory 351 option available to you that's a drop-in swap.

I need hp but also torques down low in the rpm range.
Then drop to a 300 and get to reducing friction and flow restrictions. Lot less money than a stroker and a power plant that will run 250-300k before it needs anything but routine maintenance. None of the stock V8 options put as much torque as low in the rpm range as the 300... none.
