a couple days ago i finally got back in country and decided to make the trip back to oklahoma and get the stroke running again. i have been worried about it because i hadn't started it in two and a half years and it has been sitting out side and i didnt do anything for long term storage or winterizing before i left. yes i know i am a terrible owner and found out that my truck is nicer to me than i am to it. when i saw it and saw that moss was growing on it i was really thinking it was gonna take A LOT of work. after i checked all the fluids and removed all the pack rat nests, i bought two new batteries being as the old ones were 10 years old. after install i thought what the heck and though i would at least turn it over. with out a stutter, cough or anything it fired right up! i was NOT expecting that. so after oil, coolant flush, all filters, new fuel, tire balance ( no weights on any tires, no telling where they were) tranny flush, differential oil change, greasing everything, new thermostat ( an ordeal in its self after snapping off the back bolt) and misc other maintenance we are back on the road being the big truck in the rearview. the 7.3 definitly gained some more points for once again not letting me down
That's a good story! I'm surprised the pack rats didn't eat some of the rubber, I've had that happen before. As far as the back bolt, if one is going to break, well you know rest rest of the story!
Ya the pack rats decided they liked the fire insulation stuff on the engine hood so im gonna have to replace it sometime. plus pulled over 40 hickory nuts from various places around the engine compartment.

I bet the air box was stocked uip with nuts lol..unless you have the 6637 filter
oh ya it was full. as well as the exhaust pipe. i guess 4'' is big enough for a squirrel or something to pack stuff into. my wife was standing infront of it when i started it... not happy
i tried not to laugh cuz she is already jealous of the truck. had it 6 years and have never let her ride in it. but it was worth it even if she did give me THE LOOK!
