How often should I check my IP timing
Hello all,
two summers ago I installed a new/rebuilt IP and injectors. I rented the needed timing equipment and adjusted it to within specs. Since then I have put 40k miles on the van. It still seems to be running well. I have not noticed any drop off in mileage or performance, but I do know that timing will change as the pump wears. After how many miles should I check and re-adjust the IP timing?

definitely a good idea.i consider the timing equipment part of the cost of owning the idi engine myself.just like a gas engine,it's important to keep things in tune for max performance and economy.the difference is the gas engine will start missing whereas this engine is extremely forgiving and just run.it just slowly turns into a turd lol and it happens so slowly it's like bringing a pot of water to a boil with the frog in it.he wont notice and stay right there and cook.toss him in when it's boiling, and he'll jump right back out.
