Thanks William - fighting back the urge to tune the 6.7 as we speak !
but with 400 hp and 800 lbft @ 1600 rpm it does alright stock .....
Thanks again - very fortunate to get it and the truck - timing was right !
it's a 355re model which suggest 35, but specs say 38 and I've not measured
Ah, and thanks for making me look at the specs again - the pin wgt is only 2590, and I read it as 2950 the first time - so I've been wrong all along

How does the truck tow that? I just purchased a Keystone Laredo 324RL, which weighs in at 10355 with a pin weight of 1955. Im just waiting for my demo day next week so I can pick it up. The specs say 36'7" which is a little bigger than I wanted, but the wife fell in love with this one. I would have been ok with a 30 or 32.

My Trent has pulled a tree stump out once, does that count? He's been babied for 10 years and has never pulled a trailer, or anything...

I don't remember - but I know it was on our first trip to Maumel State Park in Arkansas, so somewhere between DFW and Little Rock ?
Given that we have to stop to fill up every 200 miles - ez to forget a fueling stop !
Thanks John,

Oh, and remembering that a 5er will short cut a turn much more than a bumper pull Swing out to turn !!!!
Have learned in manual mode 6th gear that it will cruise at any speed you want ! Really!! even up and down short 2% grades... on the 3+% or longer grades I would hit the - and it would slip into 5th and regain the speed with ease !
Only variable is how low you want you mpg to be
It really is a easy tow machine, even for us rookies !

Needed breaking in, air bags, 75 or 80 pounds in the rear tires for support and control, that's it....

I have towed GN's before but this is my 1st 5er. Im sure that my 06 will be ok, but it doesnt have the power the new 6.7 has and I may need to fill up sonner than 200 miles, but I am a little lighter than you are so it may be the same. I am in the process of intalling new injectors, a little larger, and a new turbo so hopefully that will help too. I think Im also gonna send the FICM out to have the Atlas 40 down loaded as well.
I will post pics when I pick mine up as well.
