Loaded up last weekend for my first time pulling with the Fummins. Man was it a night and day difference than pulling with my chevy half ton! Love this truck!

I'm actually thinking the same thing Gerry. I wonder how difficult that swap would be diesel to diesel.....

I bet these guys could tell you: Destroked - THE Cummins Conversion Company : Home Page

I know its not a beginners project, but diesel to diesel has to be easier than gas to diesel just on principle.

I like doing my own when I can, really cuts down on the labor costs.

I'm too picky to have anyone do work for me. On top of that, I've been screwed in one way or another by almost every shop I've been to. One shop led me on a 3 month drum brake nightmare on my Ranger... and never asked me if I wanted them to replace the brakes in the first place... they just did it.

I'd rather use that money to buy the tools and learn to do it myself.

I dont know how difficult it actually was because i bought it already done, but my truck was a 5.4 gasser before it had the cummins put in. I'm learning more and more about it, and it seems a 12v cummins swap would be fairly straightforward. Mine is a bit more complex as it is a 6.7 motor being run off a 24v 5.9 ECM, so its got a few unique items and quirks. Thanks guys!
