Front skid plate curiosity....

Anyone have a front skid plate installed?

Wonders if maybe one from a raptor may work?

I have it, but it was installed at the factory.

It probably bolts onto existing holes. Measure the holes, then measure your proposed plate.

looks kinda like the one my old FX4 had

I can tell you from 1st hand experience that the factory skid plates are worthless. they tend to pretzel pretty easily

I have the factory "off road" package on my '07 XLT. I didn't want the plastic running boards because they tended to fill up with snow and slush here in the North Coast and the tubular style come with the "off road" package. This package surprisingly did NOT include off-road or other aggressive tires. Same all-season tires as the rest of 'em.

Since I don't do any real off roading (a few muddy partially washed out dirt roads from time to time, but no rock crawling) the plates, running boards, and tires work well for me. Replacement tires are all season as well.
