Is there a tool to help remove the u-jount on the right side of the front differential, or do I have to pull the axel?

I have never done it but been under my truck enough to guess that you will have to pull the axle.

Thanks, The truck is in a remote area and I really didn't want to pull it apart any more than I had too.

The passenger side has two u joints. One is near the wheel and one is right at the diff. The one at the wheel can be taken out by unclamping the boot on the sxle stub. You then pull the axle stub out and you have two short shafts connected by a u joint. This is all done AFTER you remove the wheel, brakes, hub/rotor, and spindle. The joint near the diff can be removed if you can somehow get the joint out with the stub in place which is unlikely. To get that part of the stub out you have to take out the whole axle assembly and split open the pumpkin. There's a "C" clip that holds the axle inside the case. Remove that and you can pull the axle stub.

Thanks, I have property in the middle of no where and I didn't want to open the diff in the sand. The jount is on the passenger side next to the diff. I'll see what I can do. It still drives in 2 wheel.

Thanks again.
