2004 Lariat, New to me.
Hello everyone, I recently purchased a 2004 f-150 lariat, super crew, 2wd, 5.4l triton, with 50,000 miles for $13k, I think it was a good deal seeing as how I sold my 2000 v6 2wd regular cab with 190k for $3,000..what would prices be in your area? Also, when I got this truck about 2 weeks ago the mpg readout on the dash said 13.2, after hearing a tick in the motor and looking on this site I learned about the cam phazer issue and took it to the dealer, they agreed thats what it was and repaired it free of charge. My mpg's went from 13.2 to about 17 now, is this normal? Is 53,000 miles too soon to do these plugs, or no because of the severe issues? Also, which oil filter is necessary for this engine?

Sounds like you got a decent deal. But that's just speaking off the information you provided, without knowing vehicle history and condition.
I cannot speak towards your MPG increase, but hey, I'd be happy with it.
As for plugs, etc. The 5.4L seems to like Motorcraft replacement parts. Air and oil filters, plugs, wires, COPs, etc. It's not too soon to change those plugs. You're low miles, but also 6 years old. Good luck!
