Hitting the gas pedal while braking on the 2011 F250
I recently purchased an F-250 SD. This is the first time owning a heavy duty truck. After driving for a short while I experience for the first time what it feels like to hit the gas pedal while braking. I caused a small accident before I realized what I did. I was wearing safety shoes at the time, which are bigger and heavier than regular shoes. I feel there is a design flaw with the pedals being too close together and the brake pedal going too far to the floor where it's almost even with the brake pedal. Obviously, I am much more careful when applying the brakes now.......but has anyone else experienced this?

i have that issue with my '96 explorer when wearing my steel toe boots for work. but i've never had an issue with my '02 excursion or '98 expedition. i'm not sure of the actual differance(distance between pedals) between the smaller truck and the fullsize ones but its noticeable.
so i'd have to say no i have not had this issue in a super duty/super duty based truck.

well kinda did the other day n my 2011 F250. had work boots on and brought up my left foot to rest on brake pedal with my right.
The pedal contuied to depress till i found my right foot was pushing the gas pedal also!
So normally i apply little brake and hardly ever get it to the floor, except the other day! lol and yes now i make sure i move my foot even with my heavy work boots!

When the brake is pushed in it is at a similar height as the gas pedal is. The SDs have been like this since they first rolled off the line in 98'. You will have to get used to moving your foot over more towards the centerline of the brake pedal and not the right hand edge of the brake pedal. I wear steel tipped leather work boots a lot also.

Or take the snowshoes off before driving.
Your incompetence is not Ford's fault.
