Never happened to me, but if it did it probably wouldn't matter anyway. The first inch or so that I press down on the accelerator does nothing. Anyone else notice that on their 6.0?

On a side note, I floored the gas pedal instead of hitting the brake in my dads car once when I was 15. Drove right up on the curb, thank God no one was standing there.

Drive daily with size 13 combat boots, and size 15 running shoes. Never ever, not once have I had this happen.

Heck even after coming home from a deployment where I haven't driven/seen a vehicle in months...nope. Trust me, you can forget how to drive after some of those long ones


Anyhow, for those who have done this: I suggest you stop mashing the brakes down to the floor. The brakes are power assisted and you aren't getting any extra stopping power. Pure user error IMO

For those of you that think the pedals are too close together I can suggest learning to drive with your left foot on the gas. When you need to brake it will be easier to move your foot over the correct amount.
For the rest of us, even with size 15 boots, everything is fine, Ford please don't change a thing!

It happend to me (switching from a Tundra) within the first day or two. I caught the brake with the ball of my foot and soon found that my foot was also on the accelerator as I nearly pushed a college coed through an intersection.

It hasn't happend again since I'm now aware of it, but it's got something to do with pedal placement in relation to seating position. Maybe if you had been driving another Ford truck then it would be less likely to happen.

I can heel & toe my corvette up and down through 6 gears and that means that the right foot has to be on both pedals at the same time. So I don't feel embarrased about it happening to me as someone with size 15 shoes suggested.

 

Never once in my 2000 Ex, 2004 f350, 206 f350......................but have doen it 3 times in the 08 f350. Once while coming up to a RR crossing and just kissed the crossing arm. About had to change my shorts on that one. I think part of it is the 08 v10 is so quiet compared to the all my last trucks which were psd's. When in the diesel you can hear it prior to it starting to move, in the v10 you do not depending on the noise level of your surroundings.
