Just purchased a 2011 250 4X4 Super cab, this is my first Ford and so far I love the truck. I have noticed that you need to re-train your foot to keep from hitting the gas and brake at the same time. It's not a problem once you are aware and take care.
My 08 Super Duty was worse about this than the 2011 is. Maybe I've just retrained myself better but I have had zero unintended accelerations. Watch yourself--if I'm not to old to re-learn habits nobody is.
I went from a 2002 Silverado to a 2008 F250... In my opinion, one should be able to put their entire foot between the two pedals.
it happens every once in a while, but since the engine is generally disengaged from the transmission while using the brake pedal, it's not big deal... the engine just hits 3k or so.
only on purpose while downshifting to rev match!
looking at the pictures of the pedals (for auto), they do seem pretty close - but arent they adjustable iirc?
Had it happen on my 2005 F350 and on my work 2011 F350 with work boots - just caught the corner with the side of my boot. Pedals are too close together, but our safety officer said it wasn't a truck problem (despite three other complaints), gave me a long lecture about driving with care and explained that it was likely because I did not have the adjustable pedals adjusted correctly. I have four other vehicles, and have driven for 40 years, and this is the first time this has happened, but I am remedying it by trimming 1/2" off the lower left hand corner of the gas pedal - it's plastic, and not a structural piece. Dremel to the rescue! Ford, spread those pedals out!
