I put an 2WD E4OD in an '83 F100. The trans has a VSS in the tailshaft with a gear. My Speedometer Cable has a plug that goes into the tailshaft where the VSS is installed.

I need a Speedometer Cable that will fit my Head Unit, and plug into the VSS.

I looked on LMC truck and found this cable:

47-2027 SPEEDOMETER CABLE 1 REQ

I don't know if this cable has the right ends for my application.

 

Speedometer Gear, Speedometer Gears, Ford, GM, Dodge 700R4 Have read through this link. I think these guys should have something to do your job.

 

I picked one up at Advance Auto Parts today. It looks like it will do the job. I asked for one for a '91 F250 4WD Diesel. The transmission end looks right. I will have to try the head end, when I get back to the truck to install it, but that looks OK also.

If that doesn't work out, I'll return it and contact the people at your link. Thanks for posting that. It's good information.
