Thank You To Clay

Talked to Clay at RiffRaff Diesel to night and ordered My gauges. Clay is a very nice Guy and enjoyed talking to Him. This is the first of probably many orders that I will be making from Him. Thanks Clay!!!

Gauges on the way and DP on the way, Going to be a busy week next week. Can't wait.

Does anyone Know what size tap I need for the EGT probe? I have access to lots of different sizes.

Clay's legit. I ordered my guages from him awhile back and got all worried when the pillar showed up with nothing else in the box. Wrote Clay a quick email (it was midnight) and he got right back to me at midnight and informed me the guages ship separately!!! Customer service at midnight FTW.

Clay is top notch! You cannot go wrong with Riffraff.

Congrats on the new goodies, I did my dp and gauges through Clay and love them. I've also done several other things that I've been happy with but haven't had time to post up about!

Yes, Clay has helped me spend lots of money.

I called him on a weekend when I couldn't get my spider back on during my IC boot / Plenum insert mod.

He is very helpful. Shoot, after meeting him and his wife at RRE, I was not at the least sorry for all of the money that I send their way.

They are good people.

I'll pile on with the compliments to Clay as well. Nothing but great service from him and he's one of us. Just an absolute pleasure to talk to.

I have not received My gauges yet. I am going to drill and tap the exhaust manifold on the drivers side. Should be pretty easy, I drill and tap all day long into mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum where I work. I am not worried about it.

i would drill and tap, but i dont think there is enough meat on the uppipes for getting enough thread engaugement, thats why im thinking of using the clamp and putting and drilling the 1/4" hole.. then when i get the fancy IH bellowed up pipes welding some more metal on them to drill and tap.

how thick are the stock pipes?

Here's some pics to peek at. Not my install obviously but I've done both installations, up-pipe with the band clamp and the drill and tap on the exhaust manifold. Either way is easy-peasy.

oh i see now! you tap if you go in manifold and if in pipe you just use the band method.. hmm well i might just be tapping cause the manifold does have lotsa meat there to tap it in. thanks ponyboy

Yes, that's some soft metal in the manifold but the band method is pretty solid also. Either way, you are lying on your back, drilling into roughly the same area with the same access. Just pick a method and you will be golden. I've had the band on my truck for four years and it hasn't budged.
