Toyo Power Steering Box, anyone got one?

Anyone got an extra toyota power steering box for sale?
I'm currently in the UK and there is not a huge variety of LHD vehicles round here let alone LHD 79-84 Toyota 4X4's.
I know there are kits at many distributers, just checking to see if anyone has got one they are not using..

While I don't have an extra box for sale I can help you find one. I looked local and couldn't find one so I posted a WTB ad on the Pirate4x4.com website and I got a bunch of replies.Recieved it yesterday by UPS. Going price was $100,shipped.Obviously, shipping to the UK will be a bit more. Don't forget to ask for the hoses.

flat head running

Any one out there running a toyo steer, gen, ac. I think I would rather give up the power Steering for the AC. Armstrong steering keeps you fit. Also on the flattie lot of pulleys might cut down on the Gitty Up. Any thoughts or comets. Flying or other wise. Thanks Forward. i know it has been said no power steering what is the point of manual. I got a bad Steering Box. But hey here in texas it does get a little warm.

I don't have to worry about it getting hot out here in England, but I sure as heck need to get my heater/defrost fixed!!
I'm only running an alt now on a 302 so I can spare a little for the ease of steering. I'd rather spend the dough on getting power than on the stock box. mine is a little on the wandering side at the moment.

I also posted on pirate4x4. I have a couple guys saying 50 plus shipping. Is the reasonable? The guy said the hoses are shot. Is it going to cost alot to get new hoses?

I have one that I paid $125 for here in SoCal (parts are a little more expensive here). I watched the guy take it off the truck so I had him leave the hoses and shafts on the box to keep it as a complete unit. The truck I bought it for has long since been gone so if you need one this one is available.

$50 plus shipping is an excellent deal. You probably aren't going to find much better. The hoses themselves aren't going to be of any use to you so they aren't really a big deal. You'll have to get new ones made. The one thing that you DO really want to get is the return line fitting that screws into the box. It's an oddball metric 17MM fitting and extremely difficult to find. I think most of the stock Toyota return fittings are just a screw-in hose nipple.

These guys have the 16mm & 17mm fittings to go in a Toyota box. Converts it so you can use AN6 hose and fittings. Works out well.

Hope This helps.
