2005 Escape Spare tire- lowering?

<!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->
I know that the spare is underneath the rear cargo area (underside) and I used to have a Ranger and knew how to lower the spare out of that truck, but I cannot find the access point to lower the spare on my 05 Escape- Am I blind? Or does mine have a replacement bumper (possibly from another year) that is missing the access hole? Can someone tell me exactly where to look?

Thanks

gasman6674 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
My 2004 is under the rear cargo deck not outside.
Did you look under the carpet?

regards

I just found it- the access hole is right underneath the weatherstripping for the rear hatch.
