Question pitman arm nut and washer

Ok, need some advice. I have an F150 1995. The power steering gearbox literally rusted through and wouldn't hold fluid at all. So I went ahead and took it out, after much pain and suffering, and I mean alot of pain and suffering, and attempted to remove the nut holding the pitman arm on. Couldn't break it loose on the truck, so figured I could clamp it in my vice and get it off that way. Wrong. Soaked it in penetrating oil overnight. Wouldn't budge. 3 ft bar on a 1/2" breaker bar, nothing. Heat and the 3ft bar, zilch. Finally gave up, and preceded to cut the nut off since cutting the shaft may have been an issue on the core exchange, wasn't sure, just figured the nut was the best choice to cut, I could pick up a replacement. Figured it might be a dealer part but still, thought I would be fine. Wrong again, dealer said its obsolete. Did an internet search and couldn't find it listed anywhere. I don't have time or the desire to find a junkyard and have to screw around removing it from a truck or have someone tell me they won't sell just a nut and washer. Any suggestions where I can find one quickly and painlessly? It is a big dude, 1 5/16" socket

Yea I'm sure you did, what the wheaties laced with roids or meth? Lol, what a damn knuckle buster job that thing is, totally unpleasant experience. Anyway junkyard seems to be the best bet, I just don't wanna!!
Thanks for the reply!

well if your gearbox was that rotted. i would imagine the nut might be a nightmare. but one at the junkyard might not be that hard. not all of the junkyard trucks are as rotted as your gearbox.

You might try Bronco Graveyard. I found this listing: Nut and Washer

I would suggest you give them a call to verify that is the correct part.

Damn I just tossed a complete gear box, with pitman arm out about 2 months ago. Sorry. I'll look around I know I took the nut off as I was going to pull the pitman arm just never pulled the arm. Took the gear box off a parts truck here.

rla2005-dude thats it!!!!! man can't thank you enough, I knew the members of this site would be square and help a man in need, especially if you have done this job before! Not real complicated, but a real ballbuster to get that nut off and the pitman arm is no treat!
