I am swapping a C4 from behind a 3.3 liter inline 6 out of a Fairmont into my 77 Dent with 302. Other than Torque converter swap and bell housing swap what should I expect to have to do to make this work.
Fairmont belonged to my stepfaters grandmother who bought it new. It only has 62000 original miles on it. That little 3.3 runs like a sewing machine.
The C4 in my dent crapped out about six months ago. I sure have missed driving it.
I would just sit them side by side and see if anything looks different. Like the lever for the shifter to attach to , trans. mount , wireing for start switch on left side of tranys , ect.
What year is the fairmont. It could be c-5 transmission(82 or 83) . If it is a c-5 (improved oiling system c-4) then you will need to change the bell housing and converter. Had to do this in my foxbody.Just use the ones from the truck.
