54 f100 beds and fenders

Hello everyone who knows way more than I,

Was wondering if anyone could help me out with what year boxes and fenders would interchange with my 54 f100? If anyone knows if a 79 shortbox stepside would fit without too much if any mods that would be great.

Thanks to you all

Looks like 53-56 are good donors + New Reproduction

Hey Xotlia,

I was wondering the same thing last night as I removed the fenders from my bed:

Did a forum search on beds and found these helpful threads:

Building a kit/custom:

Used for sale and what years are similiar:

NOTE: "the fenders were mounted about 2 inches higher on the '57 and up beds then they were on the 53-56 beds"

The difference is the shape of the bed sides at the top. Older beds have a 45 degree angle at the top. The newer beds, like your '79, have an 90 degree bend (flat) on the top.
