very dissapointed... stupid 6.0

i bought my 06 f250 about 10k ago. ive now changed the fuel filters, changed the oil 3 times and have pulled a few trailers in excess of 10k and put her thru hell..... stupid truck wont give up. i mean i have this welded up egr cooler in my tool box collecting dust, i have a box with arps inside and im just itching to get this truck put together.... i never would have bought this truck if i had have thought it would hold up... what is the deal? i though just adding fuel would cause problems with this 6.0..... least that is what i read in the 7.3 forum.. stupid pos 6.0

I think that's a more common issue than most people think.

Do what I did. Pull the OEM bolts out and put the ARP studs in without changing the HGs. 20,000 miles later, still going with no problems.

I have the same issue. Keep waiting for the thing to fly apart so I can fix, but it just keeps purring along.

HA HA!
My 6.0 purrs like a kitten at 130,xxx. My friends have been preaching doom and gloom to me for 6 years of ownership. I keep waiting for the engine to implode on itself, but it shows zero signs of doing this.

Oh well, I guess I'll go back to my original plan of owning a 20 year truck.

What means doom and gloom? (Transporter 3) lol. I am just glad that mine had its hickup while under warranty. Now she purrs better than it ever did, even from new. I've thought about the 2011 but just cant get past the price and since it is all mine and not the banks anymore, I will be keeping her around for a long time.

I'm an exhaust leak (of my own doing) and a ficm (or maybe injectors) away from having the same problem as you guys. I've heard so much crap about these motors that I'm going to make a point of proving my duramax and cummins buddies wrong. Since I do my own work, I'll have this thing fixed real cheap. Got 1000 bucks in so far for coolers, stc, turbo drain and homemade coolant filter, I think I can get the rest done for a couple of grand or less, then I can say "I drove this thing for 2 1/2 years, put 3 grand in it and it should run forever. Sure glad I didn't buy one of those rattling Dodges/ ugly Chinese motored Chevs... (I know they're not chinese, but most of my Chev driving buddies don't)

Does my heart good to see this thread. Bought my 2004 F250 3 weeks ago. It had just rolled over 17,000 miles. Since then, the more I read, the more nervous I get. To top it off, this is my first diesel, so I'm driving around in this thing hearing all these "new" noises and almost feel like I'm riding around sitting on a ticking time-bomb. Thanks LubbockGuy...I feel a lot better.
