Wanted to officially say Hello

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to drop a line to say how much I appreciate the fantastic information on this site. I am new to the classic truck scene (sorta) and I am excited about getting my Grandfathers 53 f100 back on the road. Here is a little history.... My grandfather purchased the truck from his uncle a year after he bought it new. My father, Aunt and older brothers all learned to drive in it. Unfortunately the truck was out of commission before I was old enough. 10 yrs ago I "saved" the truck from the junk yard. I took it apart (young and a little too eager), realized I had no money or skills to put it back together and basically stored it until 3 months ago. My wife was finally fed up with having truck scattered in the garage, basement, and attic. So after the "poop or get off the pot" discussion I through myself into the project. So far I have installed the TCI mustang II front end, new TCI rear springs, rebuilt a 302 efi (from my first car, couldn't get rid of everything from that either ) and mounted the engine and transmission. The only way I could have done this was through the confidence I gained from scouring through this site. It has been way over do for my first post and I wanted to get it out there. Thanks everyone and I look forward to many more hours both at work and home reading this forum.

Good for you!! Finally another Kentuckian. Not many of us on here. I'd like to see your project sometime if you're not far away. Congrats on saving your papaw's truck. Money cannot buy that.

Looks like a nice project!

I used to have an old farm south of you between Bonnieville and Upton.

Thats a great looking project you have there! Isn't this the best site ever, I agree with you that this forum gives you the courage to do anything with these old trucks and if you get stuck you know someone will have the answer. Looking forward to following your build progress.
