Bad day - Good day
Well today I decided to change the oil in my new toy...what I got out was 5 qts. of oil and about 5 qts of water. Now I know that should be happy that a 60 year old 6 should even run at all after sitting 20 years in a field, but I thought I might get lucky. So,I changed the oil, ordered a new head gasket, and drove it around the block under its own power, what fun...I'll let you know how the water investigation turns out.

depending on how long it sat with that much water in the pan ,,you could have some real nice rust that got tossed loose and is now floating in the oil and headed to the oil pumps pickup screen .. pulling the oil pan might be a good idea ,, and a new pan gasket is far cheaper then a turned crank and new rod and main bearing set ..besides while it's open you can pull a couple of rod caps and see just what condition it's in ..
