I have the one like the red truck with the rubber thing at the bottom of it. It is a huge improvement over my constant letting the tailgate slam down

Can someone clear the present status of EZ Down? Which is best and what is the current EZ Down they are selling with a part number?

The EZ-Down model number I got was DZ43202 and the packaging said it fits the F-250-350. With this model, you have to remove the rubber bumper on the drivers side. The EZ-Down cylinder has a rubber ring at the bottom which replaces the function of the removed rubber bumper. The model of the EZ-Down shown on the Black truck above clears the rubber bumper and is reported to lower the tailgate slower. That is all I know.

I believe they are both model 43202. I am the guy with the red truck and my understanding is (from their customer service emails) the one I have is the new model that replaced the one that is on the black truck. I have been in contact with their customer service for over two weeks now. They claim the new model should work with the rubber stop on the truck... They said in one of the emails that they rented a F250 and it fit fine with the rubber stop on the truck. They then had me email the part # on my shock. After three more emails saying what is going on guys, I finally got a reply saying to send my mailing address and they are mailing me a replacement. I have NO IDEA what they are sending.....

Not sure... I ordered mine from truckaddons.com (I think) but it came straight from EZ Down.

Tail gate anchor

I got the 43202 the other day.
How do you get the anchor for the tailgate installed. I'm holding the nut with a wrench but as I get the black hex nut turned up against it it stops. I know this has got to be simple but I'm not getting it done.
Any suggestions?

I just ordered mine from Amazon for $43.80 shipped. It arrived within a week, but I have been away from home so I don't know which version I got. I think it was new stock for Amazon (I had been checking them periodically at they were out of stock up until last week when I ordered mine).
