Question Warn Simi Hidden Winch Mount

I'm looking at getting one these for my new truck when it come's in and wonder if any you have one. How do you like it? and do have any pictures of it or the install. Also how long does it take to install? The warn site only shows one view of it.

thanks, jason

Warn Simi Hidden Winch Mount

Jason,
Easy to install. About 3 hrs but I loafed. They said 2 man job but I did it by myself. What do you need for pictures?
Dieselstop did an install on ther project truck. 4 wheel and off road did one also.
I like the fact the winch sits in line with the frame and is so close to the frame.
As far as install if I remember right.
Remove bumper
Remove tow hooks
Bolt in mount side rails to where tow hooks were(3 bolts).
Attach bottom of winch cradle to side rails.
Bolt in winch to cradle.
Install upper cradle arms to frame of truck.
Swing cradle up and bolt to cradle arms.
Remove bumper brackets from bumper.
Put in new bumper attachments.
Drill ends of bumper for black plastic extensions.
Bolt in extensions to ends of bumper.
Set skirt on winch mount.
Bolt bumper up to winch mount.
Install fairlead and hook.
Connect power to battery.
Find something to hook on to.
Spool it out till 4 wraps remain.
Spool it in using the truck to keep the cable tight.
Did I miss anything?
Oh yea smile as you recover some Z71 stuck in the sand.

Warn Simi Hidden Winch Mount

BlueOvalBoy, Thanks for the reply. I've found a few other pictures of this set up incudleing your's in the gallery and have to say i like it whole lot.

Install does'nt sound too bad at all, it seem close to install I did with the warn tranfomer system on my old truck without all the other parts. I too messed up did this by myself.

One other thing have you had any overheat problems, looks like might block some of airflow on the lower area of the coolers.

thanks, Jason

Warn Simi Hidden Winch Mount

It took me 2 days, The kit was missing the left side frame extension. I had to Fab my own. Took Warn 3 weeks to make one for me. Three hours is fantastic, If I did one again it would take me a whole day.
