92 F350 7.5L, 5-Speed HEADERS????
#16
Hey guys, weeeeeeeeellllllll ................ THEY DO FIT! I'm going to call Hedman and tell them that either I'm really good or they are misimformed about their own product. I repeat "IT DOES FIT!!"
FYI, this is for smog pump delete. These headers only have one provision for EGR, no smog bungs.
Just so everyone knows. My truck is a 1997 F350 regular cab 4x4 460 5-speed. These are Hedman 89510 Headers. I got them for $270. They even come with a Y-pipe. Anyone not familiar with Hedman, I have installed about 6 different hedmans (on different vehicles) and have been very impressed with fit and quality for the money everytime.
Now, for the moment everyone has been waiting for: Oh, and before anyone continuing, you can thank me by sending any funds (for this valuable infomation) to my paypal account at ______________ =)
Had to make some special EGR tube as stock one wouldn't fit.
Drivers side in front of the slave cylinder.
Passenger side by starter.

You da MAN
Many Thanks Ceet! Did your truck come with the heat shield boot for the slave cylinder? Nice touch if not! I will be ordering mine soon also. My truck is a 92 f350 crew, and does not have the smog injection at the Manifolds anyway. Pump just feeds the converters, which arent there anyhow!
Many thanks again!!!!

You're welcome guys!!
Yeah that boot was on my truck when I got it. It's a slick boot. Its got a snap botton that keeps it from coming off. Wraps the slave and the hose together. I'll take more pics today. Should have the truck running today, new 468, smog delete, headers, can't wait!!

Yeah they come with a Y-pipe that slips into the stock cat! No mods needed. The passenger side you have to jack up the engine 2" to slip header in, but it slips right in no issues. Driver side looks easy too (I bolted to engine before hand but...)
Watch out for the s***ty gaskets they come with. They are a terrible cutout and don't even cover the "square" corners! With all of my header installs I put 700* copper sealant on both sides of the gaskets and let sit over night. We'll see if it holds up.

I just went with stock cam. Didn't want to have to get dyno tuned until I do put a blower on...

I just put the Hedman 89510 headers on my 1993 F350 along with a Flowmaster 17198 cat back system. The headers fit fine, but I had to rework the y-pipe to make it fit to my liking. So far so good. The headers are not even close to the slave cylinder. The only fitment issue is that the trans cross member on a 5-spd is further forward then on an auto and thats why the y-pipe doesn't fit without modification. I had the Banks powerpack system on my 1988 F250 and the quality of the system is unmatched by anybody and I put over 125K on the truck with that system on and had no problems at all.

Yep, I had to mod my y-pipe to crossmemeber. Basically took the cross bracket off, slid it back and cut off an edge. Works great.
First thing, the headers even say that the black paint that they come with is non heat paint. So I spray it with 1400* VHT ceramic paint $8. It holds up well. Nothing is as good as Jet Hot Ceramic coating. But it costs as much as the headers do. So...... I budget, hah.
