Call your local junk yards. It shouldn't be too hard to find. I am not sure if the bench seats were the same sizes through 67-72 but you can do a little digging and some info should be out there. Plus, you take some measurements and figure it out yourself easy enough. Craiglist is always a good resource. Someone is always parting out on of these trucks. I would definitely stay local. Even if the replacement seat is bad shape you can fix them up easy enough or always pay someone to do it as well.
You mean rails on the bottom? Yes. It was bolted in my 71, but I think its from a 78-79 and I wanted the original seat. I happened to find a decent one in a local junk yard and switched it out. The junk yard seat was 85 bucks...but its in good shape. The one i'm selling is real nice though.
Like i said, it was bolted into my pickup when I bought it. I don't know if the previous owner motified it, it didn't appear to be motified, but I couldn't say for sure. It was securly bolted in my 71' when I bought it.
A bench seat from almost any full size Ford pickup from at least 67 up thru the early 90s will fit your rails that bolt to the floor (they are removable from the seat frame) and there is a wide variety to choose from. I currently have a nice seat with a fold down center arm rest from a 91 in my 69. It's been a couple years, but if I recall correctly, I may have had to either enlarge a couple of holes with a drill or knock out a couple of pressed in bolts from the seat or the rail,or something like that. It was no big deal. The only real issue is that some of the later seats lose you 1/2"-1" of rearward travel due to the raised headrest portion hitting the rear cab wall. It was a really easy swap. Waaayyy more comfortable than the original. Just to be sure, measure the front to rear distance of your bolts that fasten the seat to the adjusting rails and take that tape measure with you to the boneyard.
Happy Motoring,
Gene
I'm a big fan of keeping the interior as close to stock as possible. I just don't think it looks right with a center console and head rests in a 71 pickup, but that's just my 2 cents. There are no rules, so we can all make them our own
