Well I have right at 50,000 miles on my Ex and the original tires.

I've read so many horror stories about great handling Ex's one day...horrible handling Ex the day new tires are installed that I wasn't willing to tempt fate.

I primarily use my Ex as a tow and snow vehicle and when we tow...we tow...I tow a 9000# TT all over the country and I tow 12-14 hour days so I need to be comfortable when I'm towing. My Ex has been rock solid as a tow vehicle for the past many years and I didn't want to sacrifice that...

So I went right back to the BFG Rugged Trail T/A 265/75/16 E tires. I had the tires installed and picked the truck up on Thursday...drove roughly 10 miles on them and hitched up to my TT and towed ~100 miles one way with no hint of anything but the normal sure footed Ex...This was the last campout of the year and next July I'm planning an ~21 day near 5000 mile trek up to Glacier NP and as far west as Spokane WA...(as an aside...what is there to do in Spokane or somewhere near Spokane...the kids want to knock Washington State off their list and it appears Spokane isn't that far from Glacier before heading southeast to hit Yellowstone again...).

I know the BFG Rugged Trail T/A's aren't the best wet weather tire out there...but for my purposes and requirements of primarily towing stability for long distances and time...they were hard to knock out of the incumbent seat.

Cost wise...well I checked Tire Rack and for what they wanted 4 tires shipped to my house...I got them locally installed with lifetime roadhazard, balancing and rotations for...so I think I did okay...4 tires out the door for $700 or $175 per tire...not great but not bad and my Ex is still as sure footed as she was before on the same 60psi front and 70psi rear...
