My dad has the MBRP (or some combination of those letters, not sure which order they go in) on his personal V10 and it sounds pretty ****in awesome. They do have a weird sound to em though stock, being a 90* v10 with a firing order that is odd for a v10 iirc.

Kirbys73F100 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
1) Different is generally cool, that's why people make steering 14 bolts and ****
So why not do something different instead of slappin' a stocker or an ol bb in?
2) I think V10's sound cool as ****, especially whipple charged v10s

you and paul can go make out in a closet then, bunch of gheys.

different like a gto with a bbf is cool. different like it sounds like two cats ****ing in a sack when you romp on it is not cool. say what you will, but i do have a preference on how a vehicle sounds. and a ****ty exhaust note kills all cool factor to me. i love I6's, but i would never own one(unless in a rat rod) that didn't have full quiet exhaust on it. it's all a personal preference thing i guess, but some motors just sound like nails on a chalk board to me when they have "performance exhaust".

I know im late on this and its not Usual that me and Paul agree... but

Your best bet unless your going all out is the 5.4 right back in there, the 5.4 makes a **** ton of power for the small cubes that it is (331) granted if were going all out build id much rather a built 460 but when its staying in fairly stock form the 5.4 would be the best bet, now im not sure why 460 was brought up as it was not even a option (musta been a DAN thing) but of all the options you have up there the 5,4 is by far the most powerful and easiest to do the swap on... you said you didnt like the 'Performance of it' well Gear the pig then you can make a 4cly turn 40's do your trans a favor and put some gear in it, at least 4.56's if you wheel it hard and often go 4.88's

if it's a toy go carbed big block. if it still has to be a driver find another 5.4 and look around for a super charger. any motor swap is going to be a huge pita, so be prepared to spend a lot of time and money on things.
tinian has a 460 in his late model truck, i have no clue about how he did it though. maybe he'll share some rigging knowledge
EDIT: idk if he swapped it yet or not can't remember if he did and is building a second motor or if he didn't swap yet.
I havent tackled that beast yet...lol. Its coming soon though.
A buddy of mine did it. Not that bad. Depending on if you have a body lift or not you have to notch the front crossmember and then make new motor mounts. The factory tranny crossmember will actually work with a C6 using the factory holes. You can even use your stock shifting rod.

I had a Supercharged 5.4 in it before. The power was decent, not too impressed in the low range RPM's. But I was also running 44 boggers. Plus I found myself worried more about f'ing up a $3000 supercharger than having fun on the trails/mud.

If you decide to keep the 5.4, Ive got a NICE supercharger kit for you.

Before I did the SAS I had 6" suspension and 3" body lift with 4.88's and 36's. It did great on trails. It really depends on how crazy you want to go, and how much $$$$ you can dish out.

460s are overrated.

I've seen "500 hp" 460 builds slowly disappear in the mirror of my 351M powered pickup. I vote 5.4, do a over bore, bigger cams, and I'm sure there is a stroKer kit for them somewhere. I'd think you could build one mean 5.4.

Mod motor is kind of at their limit for bore sizing and the stroke is already 4.15 or 4.2, something huge. Largest stroke in a ford motor ever (part of the reason for the big tq numbers). The new 5.0 has to have special lazer-somethin or othered cylinder walls to get the bore out (it is a 4.6 block more or less) to where it needs to be. This is why they went to more cylinders instead of larger displacement, it is at a dead end as far as displacement is concerned.

I did not know that. I do know there is tons of aftermarket parts for them, and the mustang guys get big #s out of them. Hell, if wanted, you can slap carbs on them. Turbos, supercharger or the like would bump up the #s more...... I think they are good motors from the factory. My Dad had a 2001 super crew with a 5.4, it could tow 7,000 pounds behind it fairly easy.

I towed around 11500 with mine. And I agree they are good motors. I had 168000 hard earned miles with no real major problems.
Sure you build one nasty 5.4. But you better be ready to put up some money. My buddy is close to 800 hp in his lightning, but he's got a rediculous amunt of money into it.

wow, $600 for off the shelf 5.4 cams, nutz to that b/s!!!!
p.s. $400 for some cheap looking valve covers, i figured **** would be cheaper. every a.hole in sight has a mustang with something done to it, they must like to pay high prices.
