Need Opinions (Mounting Chip Switch)

So I am going to replace my mirrors with a tow type manual mirror. Therefore the power control for my current mirrors will no longer be needed. So I was thinking of mounting the rotary switch for tuning in the location that the power window adjustment **** is located. My thoughts are it would be cheaper to return this to original than drilling a hole to the right of where my wait to start light comes on. From a wiring point of view, will this work or is the dash a much better option? I probably will never have the need to return it to stock, but you never know. Opinions and pictures welcome. Thanks

That would be where the trucks with power mirrors switches are. Right above the door lock and window switches.

Thanks for the opinions, I think I will put it in the door since I didn't hear any objections.
