U-joint Replacement in IFS

Hey guys, I need some help asap!!
I'm replacing the U-joints behind the front wheels on my '96 f-250 4x4 w/ IFS.

I've got both half shafts out and now I realized that the inboard ujoint on the passenger side also needs replacement.

I cant figure out how to get the yolk seperated from the rear.

Where does that seperate? Does the shaft go into the rear?
Or does the ujoint yolk slie off somehow?

I take it this is a D50 you are working on. If so there are guys here who have been able to use a ball joint press to replace that joint with it in place.
To get the inboard shaft out you have to open up the differential housing and remove a "C" clip and then pull the shaft straight out.

I know. There was a guy in the same dilema a few weeks ago and he reported back that he changed that joint using a ball joint press, so that might be worth a try.

Thanks guys!

I didnt replace the middle joint...It didn't have any play in it but it was very stiff...I'll probably regret that later.

Anyhow the job is done. Thanks again for the replies.
